YOUTH

North Valley Friends intentionally journeys with teens, hosting silliness and seriousness with sacredness. We work to provide spaces for teens to show up as their full selves and be seen, heard, and valued. Together with a group of safe and caring adults, teens engage with God through playing games, eating snacks, reading scripture and hearing stories about Jesus’ active presence in the world.

Starting Wednesday Sept. 29 we will meet outside at Wayside (1716 Villa) at the main entrance on the side under the awning. This should reduce wind and road noise compared to last year.
Middle School – 6:15-7:15pm
High School – 7:30-8:30pm
We have extended the length of our meeting time for each group to incorporate some time for small group connections. The weekly gathered time will be:
15 minute – Group Check-in
15 minute – Game
15 minute – Teaching
15 minute – Small Group Reflection
We will be learning from members of our community about transformational times in their life, exploring where they saw God then and see God now.
Dropping off and picking up students on time is very important, so we can welcome and say goodbye well to students and families. After 5 weeks, we will evaluate our space and timing and put together the holiday season schedule starting the first week of November.
Also for additional connection and community time Tuesday Hangtimes will be each week for high school from 4-5p.m. starting Sept. 21st. Tabs will be open at Chapters and Cream for high-school students and Sammy and Rachlle will be outside at Francis Square.
Starting in October, the last hang time of each month will be at Memorial Park and open to middle school and high school (4-5p.m rain or shine). Sammy will bring the treats!
Masks required at all events and if your children have any symptoms or covid exposure please keep them home.
Thank you for all the ways many of you care not only for your students, but for the broader community! – Rachelle  and Sammy
